The house is set on a series of old terraces amongst olive and conifer trees in a small valley facing south towards the sea. It is set in 600 m2 of land with 5 productive olive trees (10 litres of olive oil in 2008 and 2009).
The house was entirely renovated, including new electricity and plumbing, according to Greek seismic building regulations by a local architect employing skilled traditional artisans with all permissions obtained in 2008.
The construction is based upon a reinforced concrete shell on the original floor plan of a 250 year old dwelling, with the outer and inner walls being rebuilt with the original stones.  Parts of the interior walls remain including the fireplace which gives a feeling of authenticity and originality, a very important factor in the renovation.
